"The go-to place for cheese" - Mia Stainsby, Vancouver Sun

"The city's busiest cheese shop" - Tim Pawsey, Where Magazine

"Vancouver's Best Food Store" - Urban Diner Awards - 2008

Welcome to

les amis du FROMAGE

We are Vancouver's busiest and best cheese shop.  We specialize in unpasteurized or "lait cru" French cheeses.  We also sell cheeses from Switzerland, Italy, Quebec, Spain, Portugal, England and Ireland.

We stock between 400-500 cheeses at any given time, and we have the best selection of cheeses made locally in British Columbia.

In addition to cheese, we also import many other specialty foods including:

  • Top quality blended and single varietal extra virgin olive oils
  • Crackers and biscuits
  • Pates, prosciutto and salami

  • Cheese equipment including Girolles, cheese knives, cheese boards, raclette machines, and fondue pots

Our Vancouver store has a full kitchen on premises where we prepare frozen ready to heat soups and entrees that can be purchased at either store.
