Allison Spurrell - les amis du FROMAGEAllison Spurrell, with her mother Alice, owns Les Amis du Fromage, Vancouver’s busy specialty cheese shop. Allison Spurrell has had a keen interest in cooking from an early age and is now an accomplished chef and business owner. The Spurrell’s first business, The Menu Setters, a catering company specializing in cheese and wine functions, led to the creation of a cheese shop with a mission to make great cheese available to everybody.  Responsible for the acquisition of over 500 different types of cheeses, from across Canada as well as internationally, Allison is an authority on cheese.  She conducts cheese tastings at Les Amis du Fromage, and interacts closely with many of British Columbia’s great chefs and wine tasting societies.  Allison has been a judge for the Canadian Cheese Grand Prix, and she has recently received a certificate in Cheese Making Technology from the Department of Food Science at the University of Guelph.  She is currently involved with Les Dames d’Escoffier and has recently been inducted in to the Confrérie des Chevaliers des Fromages de France and the Guilde des Fromagers Confrerie du Saint-Uguzon.
